Smartwatch

Setup

IMPORTANT: The pack uses the Enhanced Input System of Unreal Engine, if you don't use it, you have to adjust all input events.

Input Events

In the following pictures you can see the input settings in the AC_Smartwatch.

If you are not using the Enhanced Input System, you must change these.

Character

Go to your character and add AC_Smartwatch.

In the following screen you will see the interaction event, you can customise this as you wish, what you need is marked in red.

Create a BP_Smartwatch variable as a reference.

Create a socket on the left hand in your Character Skeleton with the name ‘Smartwatch_Socket’.
Position the socket so that the watch sits correctly on the wrist.

Now go to AC_Smartwatch Blueprint and change the following cast to your character.

Adjust everything so that there are no more errors.

Animation

To see the step counter later on the smartwatch, you must add a notification to the animations that are responsible for movement. (walking, running, sprinting, etc.).

If you already have a Notify everywhere, you can skip this step.

Open your run animation and add a new notify.

Now add the Notify ‘Steps’ at each step where the foot touches the ground.

Once you have customised all the animations, go to your Character ABP (Animation Blueprint) and create the following command.

Animation Montage

You can use the animation montage from the pack or create your own.

To make sure everything works as it should, take a look at the ABP_Manny in the demo folder.

AC_Smartwatch Settings

If you go to your character and click on AC_Smartwatch, you will see all the settings you can adjust in Details on the right.

Everything under ‘No Edit’ does not change anything.

Add clock

You can create new clocks as data assets.

Add widgets to the clock

Adding a widget is really easy.

Create a widget or duplicate a widget that is for the round or square clock and add the widget to the appropriate data asset.

INFO: The main screen must always be at the top of the array!

To change the clock in the game, you can do this with the data assets.

North and zero point

To set the northpoint in your game, place the BP_Northpoint somewhere outside your map where you want your northpoint to be.

You should set the zero point of your map to the same height as your landscape.
